I’m happy to announce that our DFG-funded project MediCluster has launched its very own blog on Hypotheses.org! As the Principal Investigator, I am thrilled to see our vision of exploring global medical manufacturing practices—spanning Tuttlingen (Germany), Sialkot (Pakistan), and Samsun (Türkiye)—come to life and open up new opportunities for discussion.
A huge shoutout to my amazing student assistant, Uğur Kocager, who has been keeping the blog updated and engaging. His work ensures that our findings, reflections, and behind-the-scenes insights are shared in a way that’s both accurate and captivating.
On the blog, you’ll find:
- Overviews of production and innovation in these regional clusters,
- Ethnographic snapshots and qualitative research notes,
- Infos and links to our publications and visual materials from the fieldwork, and
- A space that encourages interdisciplinary dialogue within STS, sociology of work & organizational sociology, and innovation research.
If you’re curious about how local production practices intersect with global value chains or simply want a closer look at our latest findings, I invite you to check out the blog! I’m excited to see how MediCluster will enhance our discussions around medical manufacturing and innovation, and I hope you’ll join us as we continue to learn and evolve.
Thank you for being part of this journey!
If you have any questions or thoughts to share, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’d love to hear from you.
