Call for submissions: Working Papers Cultural and Sociotechnical Studies

I am very happy to announce that submissions (in German or English) to the series Working Papers kultur- und techniksoziologische Studien (Working Papers Cultural and Sociotechnical Studies) are welcome at any time. All papers are published open access via an OJS platform, receive a DOI, and are embedded in the German sociological research infrastructure SocioHub.

The series provides a low-threshold forum for sharing work in progress, seminar and thesis papers, as well as research articles situated in a broadly cultural and sociotechnical perspective. We explicitly invite early career researchers and students, but are equally open to contributions from established scholars and artists who engage with technology, culture and society in empirical, historical, theoretical or artistic ways.

Possible formats include short essays, research outlines, and full-length articles. Topics may range from classic questions of science and technology studies, media and infrastructure, to contemporary issues such as platformisation, algorithmic governance, datafication, or human–machine interaction, as long as they are grounded in a cultural and sociotechnical approach.

I am currently serving as a co‑editor of the series and would be very happy to receive informal enquiries. If you are unsure whether your text might fit, feel free to send me a short abstract or a few lines about your project.

For general information about the series and submission guidelines, please consult the journal website and the “The Series” section, or contact the editorial team.
